  General Information

The Heidelberg Center for International Dispute Resolution organises an annual Summer Academy on International Dispute Resolution.

The Summer Academy, within one week provides an in-depth knowledge of the different facets of International Dispute Resolution. Practical oriented presentations combined with interactive workshops provide an excellent and wide platform for the participants to learn both the theory and practise of International Dispute Resolution.

The Summer academy is held in 3 blocks:

In the first block, the participants are provided with the latest topics and questions related to International and European Procedural Law.

In the second block, the participants take part in interactive exercises familiarizing themselves with Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques.

A two day workshop about Commercial Arbitration is held during the third block of the summer academy. This will demonstrate to the participants the working of institutional arbitration by means of practical exercises.

As the number of participants is limited to 40 persons, it is possible to provide interactive and practically orientated sessions and answers to individual questions. The participants of the summer academy consist of German and foreign lawyers, postgraduates, doctoral and post-doctoral students.

For further information please contact the Secretariat of the Center [ Ms Wiltrud Hillmann ] or the Summer Academy Coordinator [ Ms Annick Moiteaux ].
