7th Summer Academy on International Dispute Resolution
The 7th Summer Academy on International Dispute Resolution has been organized by the Heidelberg Center for International Dispute Resolution in cooperation with the [ International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) ] and the [ German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) ] was held from 16 to
19 June 2010.
This year's academy featured an interactive workshop on the practice of
International Commercial Arbitration (conducted by Peter Kraft, Attorney at Law, DIS; Dr Herbert Kronke, Professor of Law, University of Heidelberg, Former Secretary General UNIDROIT;
Dr Francesca Mazza, Counsel, ICC International Court of Arbitration; Dr Patricia Nacimiento, Attorney at Law,
Partner, White & Case; Jan Heiner Nedden, Counsel, ICC International Court of Arbitration; Dr Dirk Otto, Attorney at Law,
Partner, Norton Rose; Michael Polkinghorne, Avocat au Barreau de Paris, Solicitor,
Partner, White & Case).
Moreover, during an introduction to Alternative Dispute Resolution, the participants partook in fruitful discussions
gaining valuable insights in techniques such as negotiation and mediation (conducted by Dr Christian Duve, MPA, Attorney at law, Partner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; Jan Heiner Nedden, Counsel, ICC International Court of Arbitration; Dr Peter Tochtermann, Judge).
